We travelled to La Casa in Collina for a long weekend in June and what a perfect place for a getaway with close friends. The views from the house – either South over the mountains or North over the local hilltop town – are breathtaking and totally captivating at any time of the day. You really don’t need to go far. The new owners have clearly made some subtle changes to the house and gardens that really enhance the place, including a new outside kitchen with herb garden; a new shady place to sit on the patio and a really handy pool-house. But it’s the infinity pool that drops into the mountains that really takes your breath away. We were lucky enough to meet the new owner and you could see her love for the place. She and the house manager went out of their way to make our stay super comfortable and relaxing. Her recommendations of local restaurants (Pizzas in Montelparo); a local vineyard for lunch and winetasting (Casale Vitali) and then a day the beach at Seven Beach Club, Grottamarre were spot on and clearly tried and tested. It’s the best house book we’ve ever read!
Overall, this place feels like a best kept secret in Le Marche.
